We publish around 7 - 8 online PDF Newsletters and Members also get Exlcusives, Discounts and First 'dibs' on Fund Raising things, including DVD's, CD's, Calendars, Rexmas Cards and many other things. Membership money (after Pay Pal commission) is used to pay for the Domains, Server Space and Bandwidth. The surplice goes to care for Marc's Rock Shrine featured in the BBC4 Pagans and Pilgrims: Britain's Holiest Places TV Programme. Can't watch it as you don't live in the UK? You'll find the Video in the Members Section, along with hundreds of others including TV adverts, Programmes featuring Marc, Documentaries and other essential stuff. However, we know that many visitors simply want the 'Basics' and we at TAG are pleased to be able to offer you that here.
This Section has been expanded to give you not only an Illustrated Biography, but lots of other useful and interesting info (new info added regularly). As TAG is the Legal Guardian of Marc Bolan's Rock Shrine since 1999 you'll also find a link towards the bottom of this page, with Maps, Train and Underground Information, Photos and Videos of The History of The Bolan Tree from 1977 to the present day. This Section is updated regularly with current photos and Videos of The Tree Site.
We would like to thank everyone for the wonderful messages we've received telling us that without the work we have done (and continue to do) Marc's Rock Shrine would not have been recognised by the English Tourist Board. It's also lovely to know how many people realise that has we not taken steps to save the 'Bolan Tree' it would have been felled by 2002, as reported in the Daily Mail in 1999!

PHOTOS FROM THE FUND RAISING EVENT FOR THE MARC BOLAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC
This comes with a report by Mike and we'd like to say a huge "TANX" to him for the photos and report on the event.
PHOTO GALLERY 1
Marc Bolan and T-Rex Photos. This is just a Sample of the Dozens of Photo Galleries (many with far better quality Images) which you'll find in the Members Club Site.
PHOTO GALLERY 2
More Marc Bolan and T-Rex Photos.
PHOTO GALLERY 3
This Gallery is from the 'Zinc Alloy' Period and shows a shorter hair Marc with Tony Visconti (dig that mullet man!) and
T-Rex band member Paul Fenton. There are shots of Marc 'laying down' guitar and Paul recording the drum tracks however the majority are of Marc,
Tony and Paul with a sound engineer (in some shots) in the 'mixing studio'.
Thirty Three artworks based on photographs sent in by member John. Many Tanx.
MARC'S FLYING V and FREDDIE MERCURY'S CLOAK

The photos are all early. Before the 'armco' crash barrier was fitted and longer before the second (rear) trunk was felled by the council.
TYRANNOSAURUS REX INCLUDED IN BLUE PLAQUE
A Blue Plaque has been installed in Kidderminster (our old home tome) to commemorate the site of Frank Freeman's Dance Studio
described by John Peel as the "Best Venue outside London"! Tyrannosaurus Rex is actually listed on the Blue
Plaque and Marc Bolan is mentioned specifically in the associated News Article (reproduced here).
SKATEBOARD DEMO INCLUDED ON SKATEBOARD ALBUM
This is the archive of two articles from http://skateandannoy.com. The first is a review of an album entitled
"This is Skateboard Music". The review states:-
The only credible artist on the compilation is T.Rex.
with his song "Skateboard" that appears in demo form at the end. Amazingly, this track may only be available
on This is Skateboard Music." The second Archived article is a Blog entry from the same site by
Kilwag and is worth a read too :-) Please note the videos embedded in the page don't work as this is a screen capture.
JEWISH CHRONICLE ARTICLE (7th Sept. 2007):
Essential Reading for some fantastic details on Marc's Religous upbringing with
quotes by Marc's Older Brother Harry Feld. Nice also to see they spelt Steve Peregrin Took's name correctly!

MARC ART BY JEF!
This 'street' or graffiti artist whose goes by the 'name' Jef Aérosol did a nice pic of Marc !!!!

GADGET SHOP FEATURES MARC T-SHIRT
This is from the 'Gadget Shop 'Rexmas 2009' Catalogue which was included as an insert for many magazines in the run-up to Rexmas.
Nice to see Marc was featured for their "Guitar Rock Star" item :-) What a shame they didn't sell the T-Shirt as an 'add-on'!
Many people will know this, but for people who have forgotten (it's our age isn't it?) or didn't know check out this
photo (which has now been saved in the archives). As you'll see its from Clockwork Orange
and originates from the Malcom McDowell web site (he played the main character in this film). The 'T.Rex' labels were already
on the photos when I saved them. However they missed another smaller Ride A White Swan promo-image of Marc
'n Mickey which I've circled. Its interesting in this very late 60's version of 'the future' the CD has never arrived and
Vinyl is still King!

NEIL TENNANT: PETSHOP BOYS
Many tanx to John Hunt for sending this scan in. John said "I mentioned a while back that I'd found something on the Pet Shop Boys
website mentioning that Neil Tennant had once interviewed Marc Bolan. I've now managed to print it out and scan it and I've attached it. I hope it's clear enough." Yep - lovely John :-) Tanx.

MARC'S SHRINE - PART OF THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM
TRIPLE CROSSED TEACHING: Well who would have thought it? This took me back to a time when I was walking back from the school Dining Room
(which was nowhere near the rest of the school in Ledbury). my friends and I were laughing at, and mocking the music of 'the older generation' which periodically forced its
way into the charts and cluttered up Top Of The Pops. Suddenly a voice broke through our teenage girlie merriment and said "One day the music you like will
be old fashioned!" It was Mrs. Southall who was not only my English Teacher, but was also my form teacher. She was determined to hammer the 'round peg' we arrived a
s at the age of eleven into the 'square hole' of the Grammar School 'expecations'. Of course her words have echoed down the years as music tastes have changed and I have
always cursed her for that. But I can finally get my own back on the now presumably deceased Mrs. Southall with a raised finger and the words:-
"Old Fashioned? Now Marc Bolan is part of the Curriculum." How I wish history had been this interesting when I was at school.
I might have even paid attention to the coursework and not the transistor radio in my blazer pocket with the single cream coloured earpiece hidden by my hair :-)
Laser Love, Fee xxxxx.
A MARC'S ROCK SHRINE MENTION
This is from the people who installed the replacement Armco Crash Barrier a couple of years ago.
Fee has just contacted them about the spelling error. It is however nice to know that they, like
Bartlett Tree Experts think the site is of sufficient importance to be mentioned on their web site :-)

HARRODS and TONY VISCONTI SIGNING
On the 11th February Fee and Ruth visited Harrods to see Marc's 'signed' guitar and then we were off to Covent Garden to meet up with Tony Visconti at one of his book signing.

SYCAMORE OF SORROW
This poem appears on page 9 of Marc's 1969 book of poetry 'Warlock of Love". The poem can be found on Page 9
(and of course Marc died in the 9th Month. His choice of the Sycamore is interesting, given that 'The Bolan Tree' is a Sycamore.

MARC IN THE TREES- A PAIR OF PHOTOS
2004 VIDEO FILMED AT 'THE TREE'
A Very Short Video Clip by Will who was filming the Tree Site when all of a sudden a Mini drove past.
Of the Video he said "Even though it was back in 2004 it still gives me shivers when I watch it!".
We've filmed from the same location and a Mini has never driven past showing what a Million in a One chance this was.
MARC BOLAN'S ROCK SHRINE - INFO
These photos have been added to the site as an archive of how Marc's Tree looked in 1978, before the crash barrier was added, but after he chain link
fence had been removed after Marc's fatal crash. You can clearly see how the road is not as busy as it is nearly 35 years ago.
BEAUTIFUL B and W PHOTO
We received this lovely photo from Anne Forest from Teddington, Middlesex who said:-
"hello everyone, I hope you've had a nice time this winter.
As promised before, I am sending you the best picture I took at the shrine last November. If you do wish to publish it on the TAG, could I keep the rights to my image?
This is the best picture of the set I took - I may go back to take some more this weekend. Enjoy! (picture attached) Anne Forest"
Many Tanx Anne. Of course the copyright is yours :-) Please do feel free to send more. We can compile them into a gallery.
ROCK SHRINES BOOK
Fab Book listing the Top Forty Main Rock Shrines in the world (with ten additional listings allocated 1/5th page each). With lots of additions in 'pouches'.
In the case of Marc, these include a copy of his Death Certificate and he is given four full pages too :-) There is a mention of Golders Green and his first home in Hackney,
but the majority of the article is about Marc's Rock Shrine in Barnes, London. Its clear that this book is going to sell-and-sell! With people buying this book world-wide.
When they open it up they will find some FAB Coverage of Marc Bolan largely due to his Rock Shrine in Barnes, London. I have the most amazingly warm feeling of happiness knowing that
my wife Fee's dedication to the site since I first met her back in 1978 is credited, as it is in this book :-) Sincerely, TAG Chairman: Kevin Warner.
