EARLY PHOTOS OF MARC'S SHRINE (C) REX

These are some early photos of Marc's Shrine during the period when there was no wire chainlink fence as it was removed after the accident when Marc died and the crash barrier would not be installed for some years. You can clearly see how the road is not as busy as it is nearly 35 years ago.

Look at the photo below.
You can clearly see that although there is an area to safely stand between the road (Queen's Ride) and 'The Bolan Tree' which was significantly reduced when the 'Armco' Crash Barrier was fitted, there is a noticable steep slope behind 'The Bolan Tree'.
At this time it didn't really matter, because there was no reason to go down into Gipsy Lane, because until the PRS Memorial was sinstalled in September 1997 there was nothing of 'Bolan Significance' there.
