We had a really beautiful time at the tree yesterday (16th September 2003). It felt even more spiritual than usual with the sun shining in dapples all around while butterflies danced. The only down was that the lack of rain is taking its toll on the plants there. Although the leaves of many of the trees were wilting those of The Tree were fine so The Tree is fine. But then this is helped by the platform around it which means that it's roots are well buried and the bark chippings retain water. The bark chippings need topping up as they gradually decompose which feeds The Tree. This was the idea of using them rather than gravel. The Bronze is sporting a feather boa and a large Star helium balloon and the tree has been decorated with tinsel and glass Rexmas babbles while the notice board was filled to capacity with tributes old and new. All in all a very peaceful time. "Hi!" to the fans we met. See you again next year! |
