The first photos were taken when we first arrived. Dead leaves and steps in need of topping up again
(its amazing how regularly we have to do this as they decompose so quickly, especially with all the rain we've had of late. It was upsetting to find that Maria's Report (see further down) was right (not that we doubted her word for a moment) that all the silk flowers had been stolen from Marc's Tree, along with many of the tributes.
You can then see Work Under way. After all the soggy, dead leaves had been cleared from the steps & sides
of the shrine, its time for the four 75 litre sacks of 'Play Bark' (which lasts longer than 'Bark Chippings'
to be used to fill the steps in. Many Tanx to Jennifer for her donation towards the 'Play Bark' which
was purchased from the Garden Centre opposite Marc's last home in Upper Richmond Road,
East Sheen, London (0.9 miles from Marc's Shrine)
Fee & Jennifer by the Tree adding two new bunches of Silk Flowers. If you visit please DO take silk flowers as well as tributes (in plastic or laminated if you want them to last). Remember to take pins for the
board and Tree wooden skirt. No not put pins in 'The Bolan Tree' or indeed any tree.
You can also see Fee & Jennifer by the Tree adding Anita from Germany's message. But look at how close the bus is behind them and the height of the wheel arch & tyre!
This is a part of a letter we received from Maria on Boxing Day so we knew what to expect when we arrived :-(
dear fee and kevin, to wish you a happy xmas and a peaceful 2011; an update from me, i visited marcs shrine on xmas eve, and i was disapointed to find that two cards i had left one on marcs anniversary and one on his birthday had completely disapeared, they were both attached to the front of marcs tree.
i thought if they had been moved, that they would have been put onto the board that stands on the side of the shrine? marcs anniversary card had rose quartz crystal in it , with a praying angel and a cards
with love, wriitten on in, it was all encased ina plastic sleeve, also marcs birthday card was at the front of the tree in a plastic sleeve; i understand that things may have been moved, but I would have hoped that with respect and also they could of fallen down but i could not see anything around I am upset about it.
Also I noticed that the silk flowers had all been removed. I just hope no one has taken them; its very upsetting for all of us fans, to pay our respects.
This report was as upsetting for us to receive as it was for Maria to write.
As you can see we took new tributes sent in to us and new Silk Flowers.
