| The Heart Ripped out of the Bolan Tree How could someone have done this? It was certainly a determined and purposeful act. You can see right through the Bolan Tree from one side to the other. At this time we didn't know if the Tree would be able to live. We didn't know then it had been poisoned. |

A fan who admits the plans to fell the tree are "secret" Then, later, the secret becomes reality. |
Temporary filling added to make the tree look better This filling was not structural, but at least meant visitors didn't know how bad the damage was. |

| June 2014. Now we knew the full truth June 2014 - No new Leaves. No new shoots. Nothing. |
We waited in hope. But by July 2014 it was hopeless. The Bolan Tree was dead. Dead. Dead. Time to fund raise to have the poor thing, with its bark starting to crack because it was do dry. |
