A Live Broadcast from Marc Bolan's Rock Shrine - just 1 minute and 33 seconds of what was a gruelling day of hard work in terrible weather on the 14th September 2021.
You can see how hard TAG Chairman Kevin Warner and the 'hired help' worked replacing the complete bottom section of the steps in readiness for Marc Bolan's 44th Anniversary on the 16th September 2021
The end of a very hard day of work in readiness for Marc Bolan's 44th Anniversary on the 16th September, 2021. You can see the site at around 5:30pm, just as we'd finished working for the day. At the end Geoff Simmons arrived at Marc's Shrine with the Blue Plaque which was unveiled in Summerstown, Wimbledon, Tooting on Saturday 18th September, 2021 close to Sun Cottages where Marc Bolan (still Mark Feld) moved with his family in 1962. You can see the new steps infill - made from recycled old tyres which are treated to make them environmentally friendly because they will biodegradable over time. The advantage is that they are more 'cushioned' under foot than the 'play bark' TAG has been using for the first 21 years of our care for the site. The new log roll behind the PRS Memorial has been fitted and the area surrounding the PRS Memorial cobblestone base has been refilled with 'green slate chippings' and beautiful 'Purple Prince of Pleasure' chippings :-) You can also see the 'I Love You Care Bears' which fans bought from TAG via eBay. TAG added the laminated messages which fans gave so that all the bears could go to a 'Teddy Bears' Picnic'.
