Before the Project
Dear Mrs, Warner,
The site does look a little sad and an upgrade would improve it.
You little design is neat.
Yours sincerely,
Richard (Resident)
Dear Mrs. Warner,
We have been surprised by the number of people who still visit the memorial particularly the number from overseas.
We agree that the site around the memorial is looking neglected. We are concerned about the benches proposal. We would be more than happy to meet to discuss the ideas you have put forward with you.
Perhaps when you next visit the area we can arrange a meeting to discuss your plans with a view to finding a solution that would be agreeable to all parties concerned.
Yours Faithfully,
Roy & Claire (Residents)
Dear Fee,
Thank you for taking on board our concerns about the original proposals to include benches at the memorial site.
I think it is important when you brief the architect that any construction is confined to the British Rail part of the lane so that the ownership of that part of the lane belongoing to the houses opposite can not be disputed .
I look forward to your recommendations for planting the area.
Yours sincerely,
Michael (Resident)
Hiya all,
My feeling is that the Tree must be saved if it is at all
possible. This Tree is all important, the place is magical, it is a
living monument to Marc, which we are lucky to have, we don't have
too many things of such importance. PLEASE dont let it die, when I
saw the photos I cried, so I say SMT(save Marc's tree), and do it now
while it can still be saved.
Lotsa love,
Mickey Stephenson.
i am upset at the state of the tree....it MUST be kept alive at all costs.....it is wonderful what
TAG are doing......Marc's name and memory has to be kept going in this
century.....He is such an underrated artist but with his fans help it will
be.......please keep up the great work you are doing!

Subject: The Tree
Hi,
I'm the board member of the PRS who was responsible for putting the memorial stone at the site of the tree. As such I have maintained a keen interest in making sure that the site is kept tidy and not damaged. I'm so pleased to say that yesterday I stopped by and was absolutely overwhelmed by the wonderful things you have done. I immediately phoned my assistant who helped organise the memorial and she suggested that I contact you through the web.
So here I am saying a big thank you.
Once again well done and keep up the good work.
best regards
Nicky
everyone,
I think we were all shocked, as to the state of the tree,
and if the council saw it, im sure they would take steps to make it
safe.... Sadly, their interpretations of taking steps, would conflict
with ours, im sure.
Please say a very big thank you to Kev, for the work he did at the
tree.......... He worked none stop and his knowledge was a
very big help to the cause........
Cheers kev.......

Please keep up the good work.
I've only recently found you on the net but you're in my favourites folder now!!

Hi everyone,
Can I just say what a great job TAG has done to the site, it really is
now a beautiful site for Bolan fans around the world to visit.
I haven't been to the tree since last year, but I was very shocked to
see how much it has deteriated since then.
Like many people before me I used to think the tree was a morbid place
to visit, but since I made the journey, I now find it a spiritual place
to go and get your thoughts together, putting things into perspective.

Subject: Tree Site
Hi
When I went in 1993 the place was a "shit hole" as previously described. Lot of people had obviously been sat there drinking and smoking, infact I remember seeing one woman there who looked like she had probably been sat there for some time just chain smoking. I thought at the time "christ how can she sit there in the mud surrounded by fag ends". Thankfully we dont have to do that anymore !!

Subject: Offer of Help
Hi Tag,
I have read about the killing of the plants and flowers
around the tree site. I am extremely disturbed to think that any individual
could bring themselves to do such an act to any place such as this however I
only have to open a paper to see how grave yards are subject to such
vandalism, unfortunately it is how society is evolving. The people
conducting such acts are obviously missing something in life.
May I make this offer to you, although I am not the weathiest of people I
would like to offer some form of finacial donation to assist in the purchase
of flowers, plants and shrubs to replace those subject to the act of
mindless vandalism. I would also offer assistance in the clearing of the
area and the re planting, my only problem is that I live in Leeds however if
possible I would put myself forward for this task however I would look to
others to direct me in the work as I do not know the site.
Please advise when the future plans are known.
Andy.

I have been a fan since 1970 - only saw him once, when he wasn't at his best in 1974 - but it was still great. I have never been to any of the conventions or the like, but have always kept an eye on what was going on on the internet and what releases were available - and not a week goes by without Marc being played on my hi-fi. My interest was also renewed by a friend of mine who sings - Chris Braide www.chrisbraide.8k.com - he is only 27 but has loved Bolan for years and very often performs a Bolan number when he tours (just supported Glen Tilbrook on tour & played Keboards for Squeeze on their last tour).
You have done a marvellous job with the site and all the work you have done in keeping Marc Bolans name alive.
I wish you well for the future and thank you for providing such an excellent site.
Thanks again

Dear TAG,
I know you said there were no more to be produced and I'm desperate to get my hands on a couple of items!
the person who matters will have seen the efforts you have put into maintaining the tree/memorial site and I'm sure he would be proud to think that folks such as you are still devoted to him all these years after he died.
