ROLAN BOLAN IN THE NEWS Rolan has recently been in Leominster and this was not missed by the local paper 'The Hereford Times', who go on to mention the House Marc bought nearby. Many Tanx to member Phil for sending us the scan :-) This is available in the Members Section as a single page @ 150 dpi or divided into two sections for easier reading when printed out. 	NEW MP3 FILE From this mornings 'Classic Gold' Radio Programme. Kid Jensen talks to Gloria Jones because the chosen year for todays prog was 1972. It is now available as an mp3 in the Members Site.
	NEW SCANS Two News Scans have been added to the Promotional & Other Documents Section of the Members Site :-). They are a Two Page Contract for T-Rex to play in Boston, USA on the 17th july 1973 and were sent in by member Fiona - many Tanx :-).

	The June edition of 'Record Collector' and the July edition of 'Total Guitar' magazines both have a competition for readers to win a copy of the DVD and a Fender Telecaster guitar - Fiona. PS - Please don't email us asking for the answers. You should know them!!! Sorry!
	The July edition of 'Classic Rock' magazine offers the chance for readers to win a copy of the DVD and a home cinema system! Mmmm…tasty! Also in this edition is a section called 'The Hard Stuff Buyer's Guide 100% Rock' whereby a reviewer looks through an artists back catalogue and classes them as classics, superior, good or ones to avoid. This month is the artist is none other than our own T. Rex. - Fiona.
	There's a full page article on the back page of Time Out London on Marc this week. - It's called My Favourite Londoner - Roddy Frame on Marc Bolan. - Don't agree with all that Roddy Frame says - a bit cynical about Marc in parts ???? - Nevertheless, a great picture of Marc and an even greater unexpected surprise, after reading all of this weeks issue. T. Rex are also mentioned on page 18, as playing at the Roundhouse with Elton John in April 1970 - concert hosted by John Peel - Barbara.

	NEWS - Antiques Show is Solid Gold Easy Action, Thanks to T-Rex A GUITAR once owned by T Rex frontman Marc Bolan was one of the most dramatic finds when the Antiques Roadshow visited Wales yesterday. The item, which was used by the ill-fated star during the Sundown concerts in 1972, was estimated to have a value of £40,000, during filming of the BBC show at Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. The owner also brought in a suit worn by the singer at the same gigs which was estimated to have an auction value of between £8,000 and £12,000. 	NEW MEMBERS VIDEOS There are now a total of Seventeen Videos from the Cavern Club in the Members Section (each available as in 360 x 240 & 640 x 480 'options'). They are:- Eight Rolan Bolan Videos (three acoustic + five electric); Five 'Jeepster' Songs; plus Four 'Rarn' Songs. With a total of Thirty Eight 'Cavern Club' Videos so far (up to 39.5 meg each), it's easy to see why we need to charge a nominal sum for Server Space & Bandwidth, for access to them! 	NEW VIDEO A Video telling "The Story of Steve Took's Horns" using the cartoons drawn by Andy H for the CD booklet, together with period photos can be found on Steve Took's Domain. The video was produced by Kev (of TAG) and is available in two weights. It features one of the tracks from Steve Took's Horns album "Blow It!!!' released in 2004 by Fee and friend David Mantell through Cherry Red.
	DELAYED - NEW DVD! 'T. REX ON TV - A T. REX COMPENDIUM', will now be released on the 5th June 2006. This is being released by Demon Vision is proud to announce the 5th June 2006 release of 'T. REX ON TV - A T. REX COMPENDIUM', the first official archive DVD to compile a collection of as "Marc Bolan and T. 	SIXTEEN UNPUBLISHED PHOTOGRAPHS WITH FULL COPYRIGHT SECURED I'm so pleased to be able to report that I have secured the negatives with full copyright for Sixteen Tyrannosaurus Rex live photographs taken by an official press photographer. Other assignments including the T-Rex Wembley Concerts used for Bolan's Film 'Born to Boogie'. KEMPTON PARK 1968 Four of the Sixteen are from the Festival often referred to as 'Kempton Park' although more correctly the festival was the 8th Jazz & Blues Festival. This Festival evolved into the 'Reading Festival' we know today. WOBURN 1968 Far more more interesting are the collection of Twelve Previously Unpublished Photos taken of Tyrannosaurus Rex at the Woburn Festival in July 1968. These appear to be a Completely Unique Series of Photographs of this Festival. More information on the photographs and Steve Took's forthcoming Biography - Visit www.Steve-Took.co.uk LIMITED EDITION PRINTS OF SELECTED UNPUBLISHED NEGATIVES It is likely that several of the negatives will be issued as Limited Edition Numbered High Quality Photographic Prints, which will be Fully Mounted. 	NEWS Hot on the heels of 'Life on Mars', there is a Documentary on BBC 1 entitled "Kings of Glam". This will be broadcast on Friday 3rd March at 10:35pm (check as local times may vary). Marc's Producer (& TAG Resource Centre Member) Tony Visconti is one of the contributors to this programme. 	NEW VIDEO - 'Top of the Pops 25th Anniversary Special' We were delighted to receive a copy of the 'Top of the Pops 25th Anniversary Special' shown in September 2002. We haven't ever seen this because when it was transmitted we were in London at The Tree for five days involved in the Bronze Bust Project Instillation & Unveiling. The programme is over 24 Minutes long, so even the lighter weight 320 x 240 one is over 90 meg, but we felt sure there must be others who haven't seen this programme, who'd love the opportunity, so we've uploaded two Versions (320 x 240 & 640 x 480) to the Members Video Section. A Huge TANX to Tony Bolton for sending us the Programme :-)
	RELEASE DELAYED (AGAIN) The Box Set + DVD Whole Zinc of Finches Release date has been knocked back to 6th March. So maybe this time it'll actually be released!!
	RELEASED ON DVD The 'Marc' Shows DVD is now out. The DVD only contains the Marc parts of the shows and none of the guests. With some guests, this is not a bad thing, but I'm sure all of you have a few 'fave's you'd have like to have seen included. So if you're a 'Casual Marc Fan', or someone expecting to see the Guests, you might well be disappointed, & the Reviews on Amazon.co.uk certainly show this. 	DID YOU SEE 'LIFE ON MARS' (BBC 1) TONIGHT? More info in our update on 25th (below). We watched with nervous anticipation ... Would it be Awful? ... Would it be Brilliant? As promised, we taped the programme, which finished at 10:00pm tonight. Our visitor statistics show that in the past Twelve Months we received visits from Ninty Nine different Countries, most of whom cannot get BBC1! So, Kev pulled out all the stops to edit the 'Boley Thread' & convert it into Video Files to upload to the TAG Server, as I wrote the review & this update page for all those who've missed out! 	THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VISITORS We'd just like to say a big "Hi" to all the visitors we receive to the TAG Web Site. 2005 was our best year ever. As well as attracting visitors from 99 Countries, between all of you, well Over a Third of a Million Pages (375,915 to be exact!) were read. You notched up almost Four & a Half Million 'Hits' & downloaded Almost 50 Gig of Files (49,280 Meg to be precise)! Gosh! So here's to the rest of 2006. Based on the first 30 days of January, 2006, it looks like we will beat 2005's figures by the end of this year. Rocking! :-)

25th JANUARY 2006

	WATCH BBC 1 NEXT MONDAY 30th JANUARY LIFE ON MARS - 9.00pm! This terrific series sees 21st Century British 'Copper' Sam transported back to 1973. The title of the Series comes from the David Bowie song & the Series has been littered with classics from this period including Led Zepplin; The Sweet; Deep Purple; Thin Lizzy & more ... After three whole episodes, there had been no Marc Bolan & T-Rex :-( "Hmm ..." we were wondering ... Did this mean they were going to be forgotten? We received this Email from one of our 'Resource & Archive Members' John. "Hi Fee, Did you know about the BBC programe Life on Mars,next week's Episode on Monday 30th January sounds interesting. I quote from the TV Times."This is another nifty story from a show which plays cruel tricks on sam but also gives him the occasional treat...Tonight, our hero gets to meet teen idol Marc Bolan and attempts to save his doomed life." Best wishes" Many Tanx for that John :-). I rushed out straight away to buy the 'TV Times' as the 'TV Quick' we always buy didn't mention this story line & neither did the BBC's own Web Site! I hope you enjoy the scan :-)

20th JANUARY 2006

	BOLAN ROCKS ARROW RADIO INTO 2006! Digital Radio Station The Arrow - All Rock Radio announced that on New Year's Eve there would be an hour long 'Glam Rock Special' to take listeners* from 2005 into 2006. How could we miss it? Especially when the DJ Dave Hickman (pictured left) told us, "Marc Bolan was such an influence when I was a lad - I still remember buying 'Get It On' in the picture sleeve, and being so excited when 'Telegram Sam' came out on T.Rex's own label! Ah, memories..."!! So we recorded the show & we're pleased to report that Dave played more T-Rex than any other single artist in that One Hour Glam Special! 	20th CENTURY BOY 1991 RE-ISSUE PROMO VIDEO In 1991 Levi's Chose two Important 'ingredients' for their new Jeans Advert. One was the T-Rex classic 20th Century Boy which upon reissue crashed its way into the Top Ten. The other was the use of a model in his first acting role. That Model was Brad Pitt! 	RETURNED! On the 26th November, 2005 we reported on the disappearance of this statue from 'The Bolan Tree', left by Long Time Sincere Bolan Fan Dean. He ordered it from America especially to take it to the Tree. We were amazed yesterday when a package arrived containing this statue. There was no note it & the post mark was smudged. We've just let Dean Know :-)

T-REX - the band CAVERN CLUB CONCERT ANNOUNCED. T-Rex - the band will be playing at the Legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool on Saturday 2nd September 2006.
